As an Ohio wedding photographer, Secrest Arboretum is one of my new favorite locations for engagement sessions because it offers such a variety of stunning backdrops. Throughout the grounds, winding paths, colorful blooms, towering trees, and open fields create endless opportunities for timeless and romantic portraits. During Alison and Josh’s session, the gardens were in full summer bloom, providing the perfect setting to celebrate this exciting season of their lives.
Exploring Secrest Arboretum
From the moment we began exploring the arboretum, Alison and Josh were completely at ease together. Their natural chemistry made photographing them effortless. Whether they were walking hand-in-hand through the gardens, sharing quiet moments beneath the trees, or laughing together as the sun dipped lower in the sky, their love for one another shined through in every photograph.
One of the highlights of the evening was undoubtedly the golden hour. As the sun began to set over the fields, it cast the most beautiful warm light across the landscape. The soft golden glow created a romantic atmosphere. Golden hour is often considered the best time for engagement photos, and this session was a perfect example of why. The light was dreamy, flattering, and absolutely magical.
